
Altamont Girls Golf Team shot a 221 at St. Elmo Golf Club Thursday. Leading the team was Sophia Pearcy with a 46. Gabby Weishaar shot a 52, Cecilia Pearcy shot a 53, and Meghan Goeckner shot a 68.
Altamont did come in first place with Sophia, Gabby, and Cecilia having the best three scores of the match. Way to go girls!

Students from Mr. Long's Photojournalism class accepted a grant from the Jeff Rogers with the Illinois Press Foundation and Chris Guse with the Effingham County Farm Bureau (also an Altamont School Board member). Thank you for supporting ACHS photojournalism and Yearbook!


Altamont Boys Golf Team shot a 208 Ironhorse Golf Club Thursday. Leading the team was Tyler Ruffner with a 50 and Evan Elam shortly after him with a 51. Joel Bauer shot a 53, Alex Walker shot a 54, Charlie Goeckner shot a 56, and Cooper Hankins shot a 63.

Altamont Girls Golf Team shot a 238 at Iron Horse Golf Club. Leading the team was Sophia Pearcy with a 51. Gabby Weishaar shot a 59, Cecilia Pearcy shot a 60, and Emma Sphar shot a 68.

ACHS Sports September 9th-September 14th


Altamont Boys Golf Team shot a 199 at St. Elmo Golf Club Tuesday. Leading the team was Alex Walker with a 47. Joel Bauer shot a 50, Evan Elam and Charlie Goeckner both shot a 51, Tyler Ruffner shot a 53, Cooper Hankins shot a 60, and Dayton Tabbert shot a 72.
Colton Weiss from Hillsboro had the best score of the match with a 37, so he was a medalist for the match.

Sophia Pearcy from Altamont and Annabelle Click from Ramsey tied for the best score of the match with a 46, so they were both medalist for the match.

Bryce Gillock from Ramsey had the best score of the match with a 43, so he was a medalist for the match.

ACHS Sports September 2nd-September 7th


ACHS Soccer schedule change. Due to the predicted heat, Charleston has adjusted their Red & Gold Tournament to Saturday play only.


Students in Ms. Hooks American Literature class participated in a witch hunt this morning, in anticipation of reading The Crucible. Students' were directed to form the largest group possible that did not include a witch -- SPOILED ALERT -- though many accusations were made, no one was actually a witch.
Students learned a valuable lesson about making false accusations about innocent people, and the fear you might feel if someone were to falsely accuse you.



The boys and girls golf match scheduled for today, Monday, August 26 at Sandoval has been canceled due to heat. There will be no practice.
